Paper 3

Using the skills you have learned so far in class, think of a belief you have had to defend well, or would like to have defended well, and argue for it. You may pattern your argument after your first essay, your second essay, or any essay example found in the appendices in your book. Your paper is to be 6-10 pages long, and must reflect a personal belief you have. Your language must reflect that it is your own. You must include the following:

  1. A main argument consisting of at least 5 premises and a conclusion to demonstrate the truth of your belief.
  2. At least 5 sub-arguments, one pertaining to each of the 5 main premises.
  3. Enough background information to bring your reader “into the loop.”
  4. A standardization of your argument.
  5. You can use any format you wish. You are not confined to the 5-paragraph essay format, even though 5 main premises are required.
